Our special CDs look just like a vinyl record, they are actually black all over except for the label and there are even three imitation "Tracks" on the top surface.

We received this note from Bob Williams (the owner of synth company Analogue Systems) after he got his copy of the CD.
Attention to quality and detail is of paramount importance to us. Use of the best materials and printed artwork ensures that you will receive value for money.
Our high quality black vinyl CDs cost us four times as much as the usual silver mass copy CDs. The rainbow colours around the edge are caused by light reflecting off the disk (they are not printed or digitally created), the paper label in the centre, is the only printed area just like a vinyl record.
The Jewel case is the finest quality that we could find. As you can see from the rainbow colours in the picture, it is made from new acrylic rather than the dull recycled plastic which many cheaper CD cases are made from and arrives in a re-sealable cellophane wrap. The artwork was printed on a £27000 laser printer to ensure the highest quality.
Our CD is properly engineered and mastered.

Mastering is the final polishing and finishing process for sound recordings. A well mastered CD will be checked for errors (which can dull the sound), Normalised (so that all the tracks play at the correct level) and adjusted for spectral balance (the overall tone and imaging of the tracks are optimised).
